Description

Keith Johnson, highly accomplished fine art photographer and professor, and marketing rep for Carl Zeiss, Inc, shows us a cut-away lens during the 2013 Photo Plus Expo at the Javitz Center in New York on October 26.

Congratulations to the finalists and winners for September. Even though I truly believe that the value of a BP award has been much diluted of late (for reasons I'd be happy to expound on), I see the vast majority of the honored images as exceptional and worthy. OTOH, so many brilliant and deserving images, in my opinion, have been utterly overlooked--or perhaps NOT viewed at all by the "judges."

Excellent image, Michelle! I agree with your thoughts relating to the contest. I have noticed that so many members have voted with their non membership renewal in sharing the same sentiment! A real pity!

Ah, yes, we can expound, but I too fear nobody is looking or listening. But . . . back to your image. This in-your-face guy is dynamic, and you've caught it with the dynamic pov. #10888413

If not for the people...

I agree whole heartedly. I am upset at the "get go" that images are tossed right out of the contest when they do not receive an EFP. I personally work hard on my images and I know you do to,Michelle. Award winning images. Tossed out and aside...(Grumble, grumble!)

BUT- Photography is such a wonderful Diary of Our Lives and we still get to visit each others lives or artwork this way. I enjoy watching your life unfold. :)
