Creating Hair Light

Here's one way to create hair light. James was pointing out that you want to have the subtle light on the side of the head, not the top.

The whole concept of portrait lighting is greek to me. A science, for sure. Excellent job capturing the artist in his world. Nice work, Michelle! #10883586

Greta capture, Michelle! I have to agree with Ken. I would like to know more about studio lighting, but with my main focus on landscape and decorative arts photography, I guess I just haven't taken the time to learn more. #10883649

Patience isn't my virtue so I'd never even consider portrait photography - but it certainly is an art. Good job! #10883675

You know, sometimes I just wander through thumbs without opening, which I shouldn't do, and generally try to open everything to take a look. But . . . I was looking at a page of thumbs and I looked, went to the next, looked back, was caught by this as I often am by your framing? light? something? They fascinate and draw. #10883846
