Watchful Waiting

I’ve seen it all before. He stops and stares for a few moments, then makes his tall metal stick have three legs, and then he kisses it. Eventually it makes a clicking sound and he quits kissing it. Then he stares off somewhere again. I rarely know what he stares at. There’s nothing there to chase or eat. Then, usually and if I’m lucky, he will make his stick have one leg again, pick it up, and we finally continue on our beach walk! I’m such a lucky dog to have him as my master… that’s why I wait for him. Usually.
