The Illusion of Desolation

Uploaded: October 20, 2013

Description

----
We arrived early at the football field in suburban Philadelphia last night. It was 6:30 pm and the game was to begin at 7. It was 62F degrees and light rain was falling.
----
I tried black and white because my pre-game experimentation with very high ISO and in-camera noise reduction produced "iffy" results, but I liked the composition so much that I decided to go with the desolation theme.
----
Three hours later, the game ended in jubilation on this side of the field [and POURING RAIN everywhere].
----
But you wouldn't know it from this shot, would you?
----
I'll include two earlier versions of this in the discussion area.
