bullfight
Uploaded: September 29, 2013
I'm still going through my photos from South Korea. They have bulls fighting bulls there. I was afraid it would seem terribly cruel to the animals when I went, but mostly the bulls didn't seem to get hurt.

Holy Moses there is a lot going on in this picture!!! I love the flying dirt and the white of the eye showing in this bull-looks frightening! I am assuming you did not crop this picture-if you did and have more room on the left, could we get a peek of the rest of the bull's head? #1546243lisa anderson September 29, 2013
Hi Elaine, I don't have any more of the bulls head; they were moving really fast, but I have some different shots I can post. These aren't the best shots ever, but I thought they might be interesting from a cultural pov #10855575Dale Hardin September 29, 2013
Hadn't heard of that before Lisa. You sure do get around!! #10855620Stephen Shoff September 29, 2013
They are interesting from a cultural point of view. Catching the eye on your original post really catches my attention. #10855688Elaine Hessler September 29, 2013
Ok-Bullfight4 is my favorite! Looks like they were moving pretty quickly! #10855723Jeff E Jensen September 29, 2013
#3 is my favorite. Very interesting, Lisa! #10855845Rita K. Connell September 30, 2013
I am with Jeff #3 is my favorite were they tied together by the rope in their noses. #10856172Michael Kelly September 30, 2013
I don’t find the original post keeping my attention, but that is OK because I believe you caught the essence of what is going on here in Bullfight 3. This is by far my favorite of the group. I like the slight action blurs and the huge pile of sand tossed up shows the power of these animals. #10856537Peter W. Marks September 30, 2013
#3 for me too Lisa. And I have now learned a new thing for the day that sends me off Googling to find out more. Thanks. #10857361Beth Spencer October 01, 2013
These are all really interesting. I like the look in the eye of the first one. I am wondering about the rope? in the bulls nose in the one. Can you explain what they do with that. Looks painful to me #10858144Debbie E. Payne October 01, 2013
Some great storytelling pictures, Lisa. I have had the chance to see bullfighting in Mexico but decided not too because I thought it would be too cruel. Maybe I should have gone...I, too, like #3 and wanted to compliment you on getting flying dirt. I think with these shots, you took us there. #10858465lisa anderson October 01, 2013
I don't know if the rope hurt their noses or not, but I do know that a bull refused to fight, and it was just lead quietly away. The bull from the 2nd shot so cowed his opponent (bullfight5) they didn't fight at all. I personally thought that was a smart choice, because the bull from bullfight2 looks crazy to me. #10859581Beth Spencer October 02, 2013
He does look crazy! #10859664Elaine Hessler October 02, 2013
Those are amazing pictures! I like the symmetry of the one with the two men with the ropes and the bulls are engaged. #10859794Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
