While staying with a friend in Oregon, I arose before dawn to view the river before our day of fishing.

Dale I really like the mood you got and have no way to improve this except maybe looking at reducing the red/magenta luminance to richen those colors in the sky and reflection a touch but that might be greedy.

I have lived in Oregon for 35 years and had to google the Schlitz river. I did find a Schlitz waterhole.

How do you get 1/1.67 shutter speed? Is that special for Sony? #1544221

LOL! Tom, you couldn't find it because I'm a lousy speller. It is of course, the Siletz river, locate at Lincoln City.

As far as the shutter speed, I'm guessing Sony uses exact time when collecting exif data instead of standardized settings.

By the way will try your suggestion. I like rich colors also. #10841451

Now I see what Tom means.....I was thinking he meant too much red/magenta. I too like rich colors....Tom is much better at words than I am. #10841706

Thank you so much Anita. I tried what Tom suggested, I think. Wasn't able to see a marked difference, but understand what he was after.

I probably did it wrong, so can you clarify the procedure for me Tom. I use PSE 11. #10841741

Dale, I find it in camera raw or Lightroom develop module. the cheap and easy is to 10 burn just those bands you want to slightly saturate. #10841920

Thanks Tom. I don't have LR but could accent those colors other ways. I was trying to use the luminance as you'd suggested 'cause always open to different ways of doing things.

To change title just go to "your photos" and click on "edit your photos" in your BP home page. #10842006

Thank you Susan. It was so serene and when we went fishing later, the scene remained that way. This river is tidal so by traveling against the tide, you can then just drift back with the tide without engine noise. Very peaceful. #10842520

I really favor the original, Dale. It's a little dark in the foreground, but that seems true for the early morning when this was captured. I also liked the buoy because it had a nice reflection and it added a human element. The viewer can imagine the river coming to life as the sun rises higher. It's cleaner with it removed, but that doesn't necessarily make it better. Photographer's choice. #10844204
