I am of the belief that this is an Iris and can never ever remember seeing one this beautiful orange Mary. That is one that is a must have for the garden. Love the brick wall behind it, the greens, but the color is what takes me in along with the fabulous details. This is so pretty dear friend. Love it.
Have a wonderful day. #10830715

Thanks so much for commenting on this, Frank. It IS an Iris, from my former neighbor's garden. When she moved, she gave me a bulb for this color. Sad to say, I got one pathetic flower the following summer, and none since then. Ah, well. #10831466

Jill, Patrick, and Nadia, I'm glad you like this. Thanks for commenting.
I'd like to think that, by some miracle, I'd see another one someday. But the bulb is long gone, so...I'm not holding my breath! :) #10833802

I can't even express how beautiful I think this is, Mary.
The color of the flower, the shape of it, standing out in a 3-D way from a great background color and embraced by the green leaves - this is REALLY great!!!! REALLY! #10835957

I've never seen an orange Iris! How beautiful. I wonder if it's a white one with orange dye in the soil? Lol...Only half joking since I know my white peonies at the last house turned to giant pink peonies when I used miracle grow in the soil! It was more like miracle COLOR!

This is fabulous! And so is the photographer that captured it!

Thanks very much for stopping by, Kiki and Pom! Your friendly and amusing comments always make me smile.
Kiki, save your energy for work, and give yourself a break, comment-wise. A simple "I came, I saw, I like it!" is just fine!
And, Pommers, I had hoped the four o'clock flowers(that's really their name)I actually grew from seeds (with Miracle-Gro)would be a mixed yellow-and-pink color. They are solid pink...with one branch on each "bush" now displaying WHITE ones! Something about white and pink and Miracle-Gro that you and I have in common! #10836873

Something about that miracle grow, too! Right?? That stuff! It has "Pink Power" in it. HeeHee...Remember that phrase from the 60's? And "Think Pink"? :D

We should do a double testimonial about Miracle-Gro. It really works!
Hmmm...Pink Power...Think Pink...the phrases are coming to me through a haze...a Purple Haze... :-D

HeeHee...YES! We should.

Well, time for me to go out back for a little sunshine and dead branch burning before the FALL sets in. No more flowers here after this month...So excuse me "while I kiss the sky!" Ha! :))))) xoxoxo

Love you. -Pinky Pom #10838401
