Gimme SHELTER!

Uploaded: August 02, 2013

Description

----
It started with a few sprinkles, then turned to light, warm, steady rain, that was actually pleasant for strolling during the Car Show and Street Festival in Philadelphia last weekend. But THEN....suddenly, with a resounding, TERRIFYING clap of thunder straight from the angry sword of Thor, the skies opened with historic vengeance!
----
Festival attendees vied for the shelter afforded by shop doorways. Already drenched (with both cameras shoved under my teeshirt) I finally was able to duck into the doorway of this coffee shop, while a soaking-wet Bill ran for the car, about a half mile away.
---
What could I do but take a few photos of my surroundings?

The picture is beautiful and looks to offer us some fascinating and beautiful ways to brew coffee but its your story that took me in. Not only are you a very talented photographer, but your use of the pen and word is exceptional. I just love how you described the rain, what the people were doing to avoid it, the taking advantage of the situation for taking pictures. Beautiful in work and look my friend. #10793231

When life gives you lemons...a perfect example! The heart thingy isn't working for me today, so I can't add it to my favorites. Oh well, MY heart's in the right place! #10793341
