GRADIATED SUN

Uploaded: July 15, 2013

Description

Another surprise sunset! It looked like the sun would disappear behind a fog bank, but it sure didn't. It’s setting south of Best Rock again… at about 300 degrees. Between the solstices, the sunset point changes by about 63 degrees in half a year, for an average of 0.34 degrees per day. Near the equinoxes, the sunset point changes about 0.51 degrees per day; near the solstices, it hardly changes at all. So… it is now picking up speed again.

Quote of the Day: Let freedom reign. The sun never set on so glorious a human achievement. –Nelson Mandela

Beautifully presented, Randall. I am baffled by the geography lesson, but the photo is awesome. #1536403
