Last Sunset of Spring

Uploaded: June 21, 2013

Description

This year, the solstice was on Thursday, June 20 for places in North America west of the Central Time Zone, occurring at 10:04 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time. But the solstice falls on Friday, June 21 at 1:04 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time and 12:04 A.M. Central Daylight Time. The timing of the solstice depends on when the Sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator.

Quote of the Day:
“Press close, bare-bosomed Night!
Press close, magnetic, nourishing Night!
Night of south winds! Night of the large, few stars!
Still, nodding Night! Mad, naked, Summer Night!”
-Walt Whitman
