Black-necked Stilt with Chicks

Uploaded: June 11, 2013

Description

The rice is still low enough in California Rice Country that I was given a rare glimpse of a Black-necked Stilt and her 4 chicks (chick number four was hiding under mom). While out I saw three other stilts nesting out on the berms between fields. Soon the fields be teeming with chicks that will be well hidden in the taller rice.

I'm still amazed Leslie at your fantastic bird photography and truly believe that they should be published in a book if not at least a calendar. Let me know when you decide to publish one as I want to get the first autographed copy. #10730150

Thanks Jeff! I still have work to do but I sure love photographing birds. Have some family members asking as well....maybe I should think of one for Christmas presents. #10730497
