Description

Five week old Silvered Leaf Monkey born March 3rd at the Bronx Zoo in New York. These monkeys roam in troops led by an adult male. Primarily leaf-eaters, they carefully select new leaves, buds, and flowers for food, occasionally adding insects, which provide extra nutrition.

The babies are born orange, their flamboyant coat draws the attention of other langurs to the infant and mother until the baby grows and the brilliant color fades away.
