Makawao Union Church-The Backside

Description

Maui Hawaii
Founded in 1861 this church has celebrated 150 years. It is the 3rd rendition of the church and was designed by architect Charles William Dickey (1871-1942). It is a Gothic design in the style of an English village church.
It combines a Norman tower with a distinctively Hawaiian roofline. Four stained glass windows and the bell were reused from the old building. A Seth Thomas clock has three faces on the Norman style tower.
It continues to have an active interdenominational congregation.

Picture perfect Heather. I love the way you composed the picture and the colors just grab me. The green of the grass, the blue of the sky, that beautiful building with its stone work and shapes. Also love that tree beside the church like a little extra special touch. Gorgeous. #10605219
