In honor of all Bull Fighters esp Cody Hollums

Uploaded: February 27, 2013

Description

Bull fighters will do anything including getting in front of the bull or between the rider and the bull to save the rider. Here Cody Hollums is in front of the bull distracting him and Matt Baldwin and Brandon Loden are rushing to help. Taken at the 2012 George Paul Memorial Bull Riding. Cody was not injured this time but Oct 6,2012 doing the same thing he was stepped on the head and suffered a severe brain injury, being in coma for 7 days and a medically induced coma for another 10 days to let the brain swelling reduce. He could not move his hands or legs or remember anything and was not expected to improve.

This remarkable bull fighter, Cody Hollums had an outpouring of support of over 12,000 people on Facebook. He gradually began to improve and by Nov 6th he took his first steps. News interview on Feb 19th indicated he was walking, talking, bending and petting his dog, planning marriage with is long time girlfriend who never left his side and is back to a normal state. He will not return to bull fighting but says he has a second chance and will never sweat the small stuff and appreciate each and every day of the future. All three of these bull fighter have saved my butt many times while I was in the bull arena shooting photographs. I appreciate them very much and post this in their honor. I do not plan to get in the arena with the bulls this year being 73 years old but will shoot from behind the fence I spent so much time on the top of last year.
God bless you Cody, glad you are recovering well and best of luck in the future. #1516771

What a wonderful dedication and a real life story with a happy ending. Outstanding action shot, Emile. I think I would stay behind the fence too and I'm not 73. LOL. Never sweat the small stuff is good advice for sure. #10588743

I am relieved to hear you are going to stay behind the fence this year and so happy that Cody is engaged and doing so well. Colorful capture. So many feet there, looked like five cowboys plus Cody. Nice work! #10590242
