Survivor
Description: A female Rufous Hummingbird at a nature center in central New Jersey photographed on February 25, 2013. This species is not native to the region though some occasionally appear during migration. However, this one has stayed at the same spot for an unusually long time partly because the naturalist provides some food and warmth opportunities.
Nikon D800; Sigma 150-500@500mm; F10@1/400 sec' ISO 400. The background is the corrugated side of the Center building.
