Meramec Caverns

Uploaded: February 23, 2013

Description

The Meramec Caverns are a 4.6 mile system in the Ozarks near Stanton, Missouri, on Route 66. The caverns have a very long and rich history, including being a stop on the "Underground Railroad" and one of Jesse James' gang hideouts. It became a tourist attraction in 1935 after being purchased by showman, Lester Dill. He promoted his new attraction up and down Route 66 with billboards, painted barns and bumper 'signs', which we now call bumper stickers!Stanton soon became a favorite tourist stop for Route travelers.

Thank you very much for your comments, Beatriz & Millieanne! Sorry to be so long in getting back to you but have been gone on a couple road trips and just busy, busy.

Always love to share, Beatriz... this one was just the basic edit tweaks with some emphasis on contrast. Tonal contrasting is a big one for me, as well as accentuating lighting. I am not sure I did it on this one but I do like to darken edges helps focal point to pop.

Thanks again, your comments are sincerely appreciated! JudyAnn *:)) #10696323
