Description

IN THE SLUMS OF DHAKA NEAR GULSHAN 2

before I left I was warned by those close to me and by the US state dept to not wander around BDESH alone or at night.
I was told not to go!
I then considered a chaperone.
I finally said I had been there before and why all this published and exaggerated dread.

I walked alone in many areas of TONGI MYMENSINGH and DHAKA proper and found nothing but the kindest people. Never was there an incident and though seeing me out of the blue could at times cos a shock reaction BDESH ( as far as shooting went smoothly without any problem at all )

I stayed in the REGENCY for IJTEMA. My first room on my journey had no WINDOW in it
4 days without a window. But it was near the event I needed to shoot.
if you travel like I do compromise sacrifice and risks are the norm.

Dhaka, Bangladesh
