Turtle ZZZ's

Uploaded: January 19, 2013

Description

This giant sea turtle was catching some zzz's on Ho'okipa Beach, Maui.
I was within 10 feet of this gentle giant and could easily have touched it.
I used my Sigma 50-500mm lens and gave the turtle it's space.

Thry are an amazing sea creature. It's facinating how bigg they get and how old they can get age wise. You did a beautiful job of capturing this sleeping gentle giant. You brought out the colors and features. Outstanding work Heather. #10523753

Great find Heather, amazing detail!! Love that look of blissful peace on his face. I think I'd do the same in the sun and the sand! #10523832

LUCKY YOU Only leave the water for 2 reasons to lay eggs or if they are ill .
Have seen them swimming off Palm Beach while drift fishing . They are VERY IMPRESSIVE ...GREAT CATCH...
