8-2 after the race-recovery cs5
Description: The original photo was taken under very clear and sunny skies, which caused high contrast areas, as well as the burning out of the back of the shirt in the foreground and other areas of the frame. Using camera raw I made (4) different exposures of the original, (+1.5, 0.0, -1.5, -2.0 EV). Using Photomatix, I combined these images into a single HDR version. This was great for the high lights, but allowed to much unreal detail in the shadow areas. Then in CS5, I combined the original photo with the HDR version. In layers, (original), I erased the blown out areas of the frame and set the opacity to 25%. This allowed the details of the HDR to be at 100% in the final shot, while the 25% opacity of the shadow areas, decreased some of the HDR effect in those areas. This process gave the overall final image a more real life appearance.
