This year I had the wonderful privilege of photographing the S.E. Pennsylvania Red Cross Annual Holiday Children's Party in Center City Philadelphia. Children that probably would have had scanty (or NO) gifts were treated to multiple shopping bags filled with both fun and need-fulfilling items, a consultation with Santa, music, dancing, contests (with prizes) and fun activities--all donated by local corporations.

This tiny little boy had just arrived and was taking off his coat, when two of the Red Cross HUGE mascots (Fred Cross and a big furry bright red Blood Drop) strode over to give him a hug.

The boy was terrified and burst into sobs and tears and was nearly inconsolable.

I so enjoy the raw look of the people you take pictures of. No posing, just people being people with the different characteristics. Here this child clinging to dads leg for protection, it shows on his poor little face. Love the treatment and tones, the way you composed the picture.
