Thanks, folks! It is not hard to imagine how amateur hikers, especially in bad weather, could get totally disoriented, lost, and die on the ice, once you leave the perimeter of the glacier for the interior. #10455503

Description

From a glacier hike near Snæfellsjökull in southern Iceland. I liked how the sense of scale is totally fluid when you look at the ice field; it feels as if
this could be a wider shot of massive ridges of ice--like rolling foothills or mountains perhaps. But it is actually more of a close-up.
