Description

Mass Ascension on Saturday October 13th. Sandia Mountains in the background with sun rising at 7:28 a.m. Usually the Special Shapes launch last (if at all..some just stay tethered)....what a glorious sight this is. It just takes your breath away and you really have to focus on photographing! I found myself at times just standing there and staring....Have a wonderful day everyone!

Would you look at all those balloons! My gosh! Great shot, Patricia. There are more total balloons in that sky then have ever lifted off in all the balloon festivals Las Cruces has ever had put together! LOL! Albuquerque is the bomb when it comes to ballooning. Beautiful capture! #10434407

Thank you so much Nadia....That morning there were about 200 balloons that launched. The previous Sunday there were over 500...I can't imagine...that was a sight....but this was breathtaking too....over the period of the week that the festival is held some of the balloonists leave....so probably the first weekend is the best to attend.... #10458710
