Description

Movement toward the center. I shot innumerable yellowjacket foragers exiting from the entrance to their ground nest in Wisconsin, hoping to catch some in the plane of focus. This one came close.

Thanks, everyone, for all the kind comments. To answer William's question, I shot about 200 images to get this. This was in September, when the colonies are pretty populous (you find them by running your lawn mower over the entrance), so it took only about half an hour to fire off that many. #10485882
