No, this isn't Jeff!!! But I bet that Jeff and some of the rest of you might just know where this was taken and the name of the building... For the Challenge. #1497051

Oh man, I love every last bit of this, Debbie! For whatever reason, my brain just really digs this kind of stuff.

Sorry, I'm not sure what this building is. I'm thinking something from the Vegas trip, but can't pin it down. #10408771

This is great. I love the flow of this picture! I can't think of anything to change-perfect! #10408802

You probably passed by this on the way to the Smithsonian Castle as it is right on the Mall. This is the outside of The Native American Indian Museum. Another great place to visit. Here is a series in black and white. "Come Together" was really hard to get right. I had to shoot at a high ISO of 800 and there was either a lot of shadow on the left ceiling or it was just plain dirty up there to begin with because I had a lot of clean-up/clone work to do. If hindsight were 20/20 I'd have brought my tripod and set it up with a release wire at a very small aperture and I would have probably gotten stars up there. Oh well...got to go back. #10408885

Great image and series Debbie and it wasn't I who had to ask where it is! #10409525

Peter -- I've always thought that if we've taken pictures of a place whether it be a landscape or a building that we tell everyone where it is located. Most times we do that but sometimes we just forget for some reason or another. I figured that some of the Phellos who went to DC might have had a chance to pop in here. Glad I did. #10409545

Whats not to love about your original post, when I first look my thoughts were echoing mikes words.... Beautiful sinuous lines and great tones. Love it. I show this one to jim and he said the same thing. I love it in b/w your others are quiet nice also. #10409695

They are all good but I think the original post is the best of the lot and wouldn't change anything either....nice job Deb. #10409758

Thanks, all! I think the first was the best as well. But felt compelled to make a series. Gotta love "S" curves! #10410362

Stephen Shoff November 08, 2012

And then there are the times, Debbie and Peter, when the "value" of a composition is not dependent on the location and/or the subject. I find this tends to be most true for graphics compositions and B&W images like this one, or for images expressing mood. While knowing where a picture was taken may be an interesting factoid, that knowledge becomes a distraction and we get caught up in the physical aspects of the location or our memories rather than simply letting the composition communicate its own message. #10410693

Holy, Debbie! What a beautiful series! I love them! #10410753

Whao this building has some sexy curves! lol :~) Your title on the first one makes me think of Frank Lloyd Wright who was very big on form follows function. I also really like the one with the waterways in it...great BWs. #10411786

Thank you all. I might never have edited these images into black and white if it hadn't been for the challenge this month. #10412021

Nice captures, Debbie, and PERFECT for B/W! They look great; that museum has the best lines! #10434500

Debbie E. Payne November 26, 2012

Thank you, Chris. I really liked this museum. I also spent a good deal of time in front of the very colorful psychedelic VW Beatle. I will have to add a picture tomorrow if some of you don't know what I'm talking about. #10434528
