Pineapple

My mother cut the top off a pineapple and planted it in a pot on her patio.
Not only did it root and thrive, it bloomed and is miraculously making fruit.
This beautiful bloom / baby pineapple is about the size of a fist.
With our mild winters here on the Texas gulf coast,
we are hoping that it will produce a full size pineapple.
The photo was shot with my Samsung Galaxy SII smart phone, on macro setting.
