Description

On sprawling Babcock Ranch in Florida, this representative of the breed known as Cracker cattle, seems to beckon one down the road. The term "Cracker" comes from the sound made by the cowboys' whips as they drive the cattle out of the rough undergrowth (hence, "Florida Cracker"). Cracker cattle are a tough, stringy breed with considerable attitude.
