Very cool capture Dale and what a AWESOME ride!!! #1489650Dale Hardin October 05, 2012
Thanks Gary. The builder of this bike was the rider. Real nice guy that I met at a beach on the Puget sound in Washington State. #10357475Kristin Duff October 05, 2012
Congratulations on EP Dale. When I first saw this quickly I thought it was Jeff's photo. That angle of view is contagious! Take care and have a great weekend! #10357479Teresa H. Hunt October 05, 2012
Very cool!! I love the angle, sunset and even the bling on the headlight. Was this in Edmonds? #10357483Dale Hardin October 05, 2012
Thanks Kristin.Yes, Teresa. Went back each night after meeting you there. This was the next night. Will be doing an entire blog post on that area later. #10357498

Dale, normally I'd give you grief about your horizon not being level, but I just can't. This is fantastic! #10358030Rita K. Connell October 06, 2012
this is a shot of every guy... green with envy!!! how's that peter I didn't say awesome...LOL congrats on the EPthe angle has nice leading lines with both shore lines, and the shadows add a nice touch, the bling on the headlight add a little interest. I think the shadow needs to be open up a little on the back half of the bike. looks like a nice evening at the beach. Hope you got a shot with the owner on it or near it. #10358195

Congratulations on your EP! This is a great shot and I think only one thing would make it so much better! That would be seeing you sit on this bike and pose for the shot!! #10358644Kristin Duff October 06, 2012
Now Beth that is something I would like to see! #10358681Aimee C. Eisaman October 07, 2012
Love Love Love the angle you shot this at and am so pround that you stuck to it even though the horizon isn't level! I love how you got just the right position so the sun was an asset to this image instead of a distraction. I personally do not care for the bling on the headlight, but that's a matter of personal taste. I normally do like when you put the stars on, but the natural setting and warmth of the light here makes it not sit well with me. I also see some cyan around the wheels...not sure what that was from, but it's almost like a halo effect. Not trying to be picky, just want you to be aware of it! :~) #10359271Dale Hardin October 07, 2012
Thanks to you all for the cool comments, and thanks Jeff, for the compositional inspiration. This image is pretty much straight out of camera, except that (as you'd expect) to side facing the camera was a bit dark so I had to open the shadows there a bit.
And Aimee, I agree, the bling could have been left out, but I was so happy with this shot, I wanted to celebrate. :o)
BTW, did get some shots with the owner/builder of this. Here are some samples. #10359501

Really nice Dale! I think I prefer image 4-I like the detail of the picture and the tones/colors. A totally different shot-I am sure the owners were very happy! #10359521Dale Hardin October 07, 2012
Thank you Elaine. He was a very nice young man and ended up posing the bike himself and using my tips to take images on his cell phone. #10359556Teresa H. Hunt October 07, 2012
Of the new set of photo's I love the last one. I think it's a great location/product type shot. Though the two people sitting on the beach don't really need to be there. :) #10359682Dale Hardin October 07, 2012
Thanks Teresa. I like it also and have a vertical too. The people are easily removed. You know me and PSE. :o) #10359920Michael Kelly October 08, 2012
The lighting really shows off the high tech well. Like the sun peeking from behind the bike too. Very nice shot Dale. #10361094Dale Hardin October 08, 2012
Thanks Mike. #10361368Brandi K. Mills October 08, 2012
I really like this photo for a lot of reasons, but mostly the location. I LOVE Edmonds! Lived there for 5 years. That's where Teresa and I met. That's where I met my husband. Many good memories there. I took like a million pics of the sunsets before we moved 15 years ago with a little 35mm because I didn't want to forget. Makes me want to go back soon! #10361380Teresa H. Hunt October 08, 2012
Brandi, have you been there recently? They tore down most of the school. The auditorim, gym and library are pretty much all that's left. Oh and of course the wonderful dorms :) #10361392Teresa H. Hunt October 08, 2012
I'd live in Edmonds again. I love it there too :) #10361393Brandi K. Mills October 08, 2012
I can't remember if it was summer 2010 or 2011, but we went back and took the kids for a couple days, road the ferry, went to a Mariners game and stayed at the old hotel I used to work at. I missed that ocean smell and it's just so beautiful there! I did see the school was tore down...weird. I would also live there again. #10361399Dale Hardin October 08, 2012
Brandi, have Teresa tell you the story of how I found this beach and the night she met me there. #10361447Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
