Description

During the American Civil Rights Movement, Little Rock Central High School was the site of forced desegregation. Police were stationed around the school campus to ensure the "Little Rock Nine" would be safe from the many protestors. This action was as a result of Brown vs. Brown when the U.S. Supreme Court's decision granted the right to an equal education to all African American students. A very monumental moment in the history of education in our country to say the least.

JudyAnn, I love your wonderful presentation of this great historic school! I have to tell you, I was there a couple of years back and we happened to arrive just as school was getting out and I took a couple of shots of the front of the school and a security guard asked me to stop shooting with the students out front! Very protective of the students! #10359925

Thank you SO much, Joannie!! *:))
I am glad to hear they are protective but what a shame you could not get the photos you wanted. I wanted to walk around inside that day but couldn't because they were getting ready for a reunion! Thanks again, JudyAnn #10362289
