Good to Go - Nuthatch

Description

I bought a copy of Adobe Lightroom last week and I've been working my with through learning how to use it. This shot was pretty good out of the camera, but I think a little post processing helped a lot. It's cropped to center on the bird, I applied a little bit of sharpening, I applied a processing preset that brought out the colors in the bird's feathers, and I used noise reduction to reduce the grain in the background. I'm finding that good bird shots aren't easy to get. My lens isn't really long enough and doesn't have a wide enough aperture to get well exposed, close photos of birds in the shade, which is where they tend to be. But with a little cropping and post-processing, some of them look pretty good.
