Stone / Face
Description: Details from the rock-and moss-surface of the cliffs of Tintagel (location of King Arthur's castle in Cornwall, UK), overlaid with picture of my friend. The face itself has strong and dark features. The rock has interesting splashes of colour.
My intent is to make the texture play together with and add focus to some of the facial features. Also I wanted to experiment with adding completely new colours to this portrait.
The processing was made in Photoshop Elements using sevaral layers. Portrait was converted to B/W, then layered on top of texture in Multiply blending mode. Portrait was adjusted locally (e.g. the hair) to optimize the blending. A lot of experimentation - and a lot of fun.
Rock-photo was made with Canon G5.
