Bow Falls

Uploaded: September 05, 2012

Description

The Bow River flows right through the center of the town of Banff. It starts as a glacial melt at Bow Glacier. The falls' highest drop is 30 feet, but oh my the amount of water flowing over that drop is amazing.

Laura lives in Calgary not too far from Banff and spends a lot of time in Banff NP. We were hoping to connect...but my cel phone service didn't work in Canada (bummer) and WIFI connections in Canmore (the town we stayed in) were almost non-existent...Laura had a hike up the trail to view Morraine Lake...which we also did....I'll have to post my photo of the trail which kind of matches Laura's. #10312904

Well, hello ladies! Fancy meeting you here! You know, Dale (Hubby) and I river raft and we don't dare go over these deadly falls. In fact it's illegal! Up river you cannot believe the rage of water on it's way to this point. It's nuts and a relentless mile! I think back to the early days when rafters would just go down river and meet whatever was ahead. It would have been a nightmare for anyone to try and survive it.

Great pic. Patricia :))
