Love Birds
Description: 1/5000s @ f/5.0, ISO 400, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII @ 200mm. Hand-held, manual. (
Taken at the Alligator Farm, Fla. this past April. I watched the courtship display of this Roseate Spoonbill pair for quite some time, including this ritualized exchange of nest material. I learned that these birds are monagamous and that a mated pair will raise one brood of 1-6 eggs each year.Resubmitted February 10, 2013.
