Description

The Marines are about to land, the Marines from VMFA-224 All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron at Beaufort, South Carolina. This plane wears tail designation WK 07 and is returning from flying chase for the new F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter based at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

Note to judges: Our military services are particularly proud of their affiliation with their groups and squadrons, a heritage that in most cases dates back many years and, therefore, I include squadron patches on some of these entries.

I value your comments Dominick, Thank you. I know you don't post aviation photos, and this is one of my many loves in life. It's an exciting time here at Eglin Air Force Base, and an important time as we train our allies in efforts to maintain world peace. I see the F-35 daily now and I see many branches of the military here that I've not seen before. Thanks for stopping by my friend. #10307315
