Water Lines

Description

1/500s @ f/18, ISO 1000, Nikkor 500mm, f/4.0, VRII @ 1000mm with 2X TC. (CA)
Taken at the Celery Bog wetlands area, 8/15/12. I am on a project to document how the statewide drought has affected the Celery Bog. The water lines on this dead stand of trees (note the GBH hiding!) represent previous high water levels. Large areas that are normally covered by water are now home to a variety of plants as the water continues to recede. Fortunately we've had a fair amount of rain this week, but it will take much more to get back to normal.

Wonderful project and capture Rona, we have had a couple weeks of mostly rain here, so I am cutting the lawn like crazy again.Three days and I had to cut it again. Amazing, as a few weeks ago the grass was white and the ground was like cement! #1481151

Beautifully done, and it certainly shows the difference in water levels (and the need for rain)! #10282185
