Description

---
On August 9, First Lady, Michelle Obama, visited Philadelphia for a Rally with "Obama for America" volunteers and other Grass Roots supporters.
-----
Following her speech, which drew several waves of DEAFENING applause, she spent about ten minutes mingling with the crowd and shaking hands, during which she was surrounded by at least four Secret Service men and women--and probably more.
----
It was interesting to watch as the SS eyes constantly scanned the crowd, and if a hand reached for the First Lady unsolicited, the hand would be pushed back. For much of the FLOTUS presentation, the audience was a veritable SEA OF cell phone cameras on the ends of outstretched arms.

Excellent capture of the moment Michelle. I think high profile people are always brave to mingle with the crowds, it does carry huge risks for them. #10275711

I always think what a terrifying job it must be for the Secret Service agents, not from fear for their own safety but from fear for the safty of those they try to protect. To have something happen to their charge would be devastating. I think this is a marvelous p-j image, Michelle. #10278575
