Highway 101
Description: Before the Golden Gate Bridge (just behind the red hut)connected San Francisco
with Marin county and the North Bay, Route 101 travelers used to come to Hyde Street Pier,
embark on a ferry crossing the Bay, and disembark in Marin to continue their travel on 101 North.

On the right (below the "Hyde Street Pier" sign) you can see a faint "101" sign.
The Ferry is now a beautiful museum, housing many of the cars it used to transport in the early 1920s.
