ONE HOUR STARE
Description:

I covered a high profile-political event (featuring VP Joe Biden) in Philadelphia recently. It was an awesome experience, though I had to control some serious acid reflux, if you get my drift.

The most fascinating part of the afternoon for me was observing the Secret Service (at least those who were not "in cognito) members on the job.

This man was posted below and in front of the stage/podium, and I had a very good view of him. For the entire speech, which lasted nearly an hour, he stood motionless, staring straight ahead into one portion of the huge audience.

It was explained to me that if you don't watch just ONE SPOT, you might not notice if something new enters that area. I was in awe of this man, who barely even BLINKED!

After the speech, when Mr. Biden mingled with the crowd, this man stayed close to the VP, eyes constantly SCANNING! He even smiled--at least once!
