These captures of birds in flight are top-shelf, Debby! Really perfectly done! I'm in awe! #1476719

Outstanding in flight capture Debby, what lens and settings were you using on this series of photos. #10243067

Thanks Tom and Jeff!

I used the 70-200 Nikkor lens at 200mm ISO 400, F/8, 1/2000. They were taken early morning at Nickerson Beach in LI. Most people there use at least a 500mm often with tele-converters. This time I wanted the portability of a smaller lens for flight photography and it really paid off.

Another great flight capture, Debby! Love the way you caught him with his mouth open! I often use my 70-200 Nikkor hand-held, which is my favorite Nikon lens, even though I have a 500 as well. But it means a totally different set up with heavier tripod and head. One of these days I will make it to Nickerson Beach! #10245344

Thank you, Rona, if you ever get to Nickerson Beach let me know and I'll meet you there, it's only 1.5 hours from my home.
