Village of Obidos

Description

On our second day in Portugal, we explored the countryside north of Lisbon and found this beautiful little village, completely enclosed by the village wall. The area was first inhabited by the Romans and then fell into the hands of the Moors who built the first settlement on the top of this hill in the 700's. In 1148, the first King of Portugal stormed the Moorish castle taking it from the Moors. This shot taken from the top of the South Tower.

Yes, the concept of a city within walls that surround it goes back so far and has been duplicated over the hundreds of years. For sure you composition, depth, pov, give us this beautiful and amazing view. You did a spectacular job with this my friend. Way to go. #10233971
