Description

This is an anole, a lizard-type critter found in the southeastern part of the United States. They have the ability to change color to match their environment. In our part of Florida their size is typically about 4 inches, but a mature anole can reach 7 inches. You can approach them to within 3 feet, typically, without having them feel threatened. I like to be at their level when I approach them and I like to talk to them in a low, soothing voice. You can see this guy cock his head to get a better look at me. He is on the handle of a very old wheelbarrow.

Oh... they have no teeth and they can be caught by hand. You can also hand-feed them worms and insects.

Next time I'll shoot him with a much smaller aperture to bring in more definition of his body. This guy is chubby after a good meal.
