Dancing in the Desert

Uploaded: July 11, 2012

Description

Shot this while watching a Tanoura dancer swirl vehemently with embroidered and decorative colorful clothing as part of the last activity while on a Dubai Desert Safari.
Using a slow shutter speed I tried to capture the sense of motion under the lights on a dark desert night.

f/5.6, 1/4 secs, ISO 800, at 45mm.

A flash fired capture in discussion thread for comparison.

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: -0.67, ExposureTime: 10/40 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 800, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 45.00 mm, Model: NIKON D40

I love the action blur; you've found the perfect shutter speed, I think, to convey the spirit of the dance. #10226131
