He is TINY...and completely unaware of the mortal danger that lurks only yards away from where he is relaxing.

Mr. P. looks as if he's been around the block a few times - hopefully he'll be wily enough to avoid becoming lunch! Well done! #10224679

Life and death on the pond. We went hiking last week and saw a bald eagle get a duckling. Alas, it is the way of the world. #10224942

Oh, your goofy little newbie is adorable! I hope he evades the heron. Pumpkin is a great name for the chubby frog! Terrific work, Michelle! #10225396

@Terry: The goofy little newbie WAS adorable. She, unfortunately, was NOT paying attention this afternoon, or was not aware of the lurking danger. She was captured, turned, dunked, turned, in a cycle that seemed to go on forever. Finally her head was positioned properly, facing the little heron's throat and down she went. The good news is that about 10 nearby frogs scattered immediately.

Whew! I have THE predation photos. #10225413

Pumpkin looks very content! Excellent photos of all of your pond character. Poor little Newbie. The heron is probably eating of two or three or more!!! #10225642
