Covered in bedding
Uploaded: July 07, 2012
This Kookaburra obviously got out of bed quickly, it's covered in White-ants. Kookaburras incubate their two to four pure white eggs in hollow tree trunks or in excavated termite nests. Both adults incubate for a period of 25 days. The young leave the nest 30 days after hatching, but the parents continue to feed them for another 40 days. Lens aperture f/4.5, shutter speed 1/80sec, focal length 14mm, ISO 400.
Exif: F Number: 4.5, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 10/800 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 13.71 mm, Model: DSC-H70

Guess I could live without the ants, but what an absolutely adorable bird! Terrific detail, Chris - so real I'd love to squeeze it (well, if it weren't for those ants)! #1473600John Connolly July 08, 2012
