Description

7:30 AM at Zilker Botanical Gardens in Austin...just me, the birds, a few rabbits and one just-opened drama queen of a water lily at my favorite pond in the Oriental Gardens. The peace and quiet surrounded by nature's finest were so good for both body and soul....but then, you all know that. :)

I know what you mean about the peace and quiet. We have tacky summer tourists cluttering up my area currently, but the first snow- then they disappear! Love your water lily. There may be a few around here- I have seen lily pads in the lakes. #1471194

Dear Photo Friend: I feel that something has changed at Better Photo but cannot tell you just what has happened. I have been here since 2003 and most every month I have written to all the winners telling them how their work touches me. I have witnessed photographs that bring tears to my eyes and colors that are unbelievable, now I am worried that like all good things that it will not be here the next time I look.
But the feeling of not being able to congratulate all the winners for the hard work, and sharing their talent with all of us makes me so sad.
However it turns out and even if this is the last time I have this privilege, to let you know how exceptional your work has been, please know that I will never forget.
