Exquisite in every way. And how lucky to actually capture a male. I have seen them occasionally but never with camera in hand or at the ready. #1470806

Thank you Michelle and Gina. The majority of hummingbirds that frequent our garden are males and because of the mild temperatures here in the panhandle throughout the year we have hummers nearly year round. IF I leave the feeder out over the winter months I'm likely to see a hummingbird other than the normal ruby throated variety that is claimed to be the only type east of the Mississippi.

The males are the first to return in April and we'll be hard-pressed to see a female until late June. In October when they begin their migration south, over the Gulf to Mexico they will swarm the feeder(s) filling up for several days for the long flight.

They are beautiful and they are brash. Both hummingbirds and the female osprey will approach to within inches of me.

Gina, if you have a chance stop by my Wildlife gallery and see some of my birds. Being from Florida you might get some ideas. I see that you have recently taken up photography. Here's the link:

Again, thanks for stopping by Gina and my long time BP friend, Michelle. #10196712
