Texas, Hot, Dry, Beautiful

Uploaded: June 16, 2012

Description

I am outside of San Antonio in the South Texas Plains and it was 105 degree, has not rained for a while so I went out looking for something to shoot. This dry creek bed was cooler and more beautiful than the surrounding area. I loved the overhanging trees, textures of the rocks and the dappled side lighting. Comments welcome No DD on this one. I did dial -1 EV however.

Exif: F Number: 7.1, Exposure Bias Value: -2.00, ExposureTime: 1/250 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 640, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 24.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV

It looks as dry as an old leather boot Emile! Your lighting here is exemplary, and your exposure is spot on! I would love some of that warmth here right now! #10182955

Emile, I also live in a hot dry part of Australia, and can relate to your comments. The cool shade of the trees here certainly looks like a place to rest out of the heat. I like the dappled light! #10183234

Love the way the creek bed leads the eye through the frame. Now that is hot weather. You won't find it that warm on your trip to Canada. #10184503
