Thank you very much! This barn had humble beginnings, so I was inspired to put more pizzazz into the image. The sandwich technique can be applied in a variety of ways. For this image, I made a duplicate of the original. I applied a Gaussian blur so that detail was lost on the duplicate, and adjusted the exposure +1 (can vary) for both the original and duplicated blurred image. The original image was dragged over the blurred image, and the layer blending mode was set to “multiply.” To provide more of a glow, you can increase the size of the blurred image slightly. You can also use normal blending and adjust the opacity to your liking -- everything is negotiable! You can also start with a sandwich in mind by using a tripod and zoom lens, making your first image @ f/22 and a second wide open and defocused slightly, and layer them in Photoshop much the same way. That’s it in a nutshell! And I thought Tony’s course was just for flowers…. :o) #1938507
