Starry, starry night!

Uploaded: May 26, 2012 00:26:00

Description

We sat up way after midnight in this 1890's cemetery on a hill, in a little ghosttown. The sky was lit up with stars and the milky way, there was no moon, and no lights. Perfect for star trails.

This is so amazing, Debbie. What a great job you did here. I love the amazing trails! Wow!

There is something so special about old graveyards. I love reading the epitaphs. They were often so original and from the heart back n those days. Here is my favorite one that I memorized years ago:

Pause as you pass this by
As you are now so once was I
As I am now so will you be
So prepare thyself to follow me.

Wow! What a strong verse, and yes Laura, they do have some unusual things written in those days, which they don't bother with anymore. Some of them suffered with a lot of pain before dying, and their epitaph said that!

Yes!! Very true!! Gun shot wounds and diseases that we have cures for now. Sad. In Key West Florida, USA (way back when) there was this married guy and everyone knew he was a huge philanderer. When he died his WIFE had written on his headstone: "Well, At Least Now I Will Know Where He Is At Night"...(Lol)
