Flowers on Ice

Uploaded: May 18, 2012

Description

This project was so fun. First, in a plastic dinner plate sized container I froze a thin layer of water. Then added the flower petals and another thin layer of water. Once that was frozen I repeated the second step several times until I had a block of ice about 2 inches thick. My photo setup was outside on a sunny day. After the block of ice was removed from the container I placed it on a sheet of glass and added a light from the bottom and side. I moved around the block taking several photos with a macro lens. This is one of my favorites.
