Lone Diner

I was having lunch alone in a small but very charming French bistro I had found in downtown Albuquerque. This young man was enjoying his leisurely meal when I arrived. He lingered over desert and coffee and, finally, a book on his Kindle; I kept glancing around the room and wishing I had a picture with him in it. Finally I found the nerve to ask his permission and he obliged. I took a few shots, some with the empty chair across from him and some with it removed. The waitress unexpectedly walked into my last frame for the best capture of all - their poses are completely spontaneous.
